The Queen Cook is an all cast iron wood stove which is being re-manufactured
by Enterprise Fawcett after an absence of more than sixty years. Popular
then, it is now of much interest to antique fanciers and those who desire
the charm and warmth of a famous, old-style, practical wood stove.
The Queen Cook is constructed of pure grey, solid cast iron, with a black
satin finish complete with nickel plated silhouettes of Queen Victoria.
The large, deep, wood firebox provides ample heat for top cooking and
oven heating. The elevated oven, as it was known in the past, is at a
practical height and has two removable round covers for additional surface
cooking.
The spacious oven has swing-away doors at each end. The hearth draft-slide
and door provides a variable amount of draft for oven cooking or the occasional
pot of tea. Two nickel plated pot warmers swing away to allow removal
of the covers. The large 10" cover over the firebox pot permits larger
pieces of wood to be placed on top of the fire. The strong cast iron rack
under the stove is a good storage and drying area. Not CSA/ULC approved.
